Reflections on 2025

In 2025, the board took meaningful steps to strengthen infrastructure, public safety, and long-term planning. One effort that stands out was the implementation of the Pavement Management Plan. Combined with a historic record investment in residential road resurfacing, this reflects my commitment to improving your day-to-day quality of life.

Key Wins:
Roads: Apopka Avenue and Orange Avenue repairs are moving forward. Gospel Island Road is programmed for 2027.
Safety: Secured $3.5 million in state appropriations for the new Inverness fire station.
Water: Secured over $20 million in state funding for septic-to-sewer projects.

Looking Ahead: 2026 & Beyond

Serving on the Board has reinforced that the decisions we make today must work not only for the present, but for the county our grandchildren will inherit.

Managing Growth & Concurrency

I am focused on efforts to re-institute concurrency, so that developers are paying their fair share for the infrastructure needed to support growth. We must ensure growth pays for itself.

The Comprehensive Plan

Citrus County’s last comprehensive plan was adopted in the 1980s. Today's reality is different. That is why I launched a professional overhaul of the plan—to guide land use, conservation, and housing in a way that protects our "Nature Coast" character while allowing responsible economic opportunity.
